One Thousand Pulses

One Thousand Pulses (OTP) is the Northeast's premier series of festivals for electronic and experimental music. Showcasing artists whose sounds span the spectrum of electronic genres, styles, and motifs, OTP hosts semi-regular events in venues throughout the region to broaden the outreach of such artists and their audiences alike.

OTP's Philadelphia debut mixes established veterans with vibrant newcomers: the bedazzling galactic vistas spawned by Alpha Wave Movement (returning to live performance after 10 years); the first collaboration between Philly's own versatile guitarist/electronics maven Tim Motzer & trombonist/electronicist JA Deane (whose resumé includes stints with Jon Hassell, Butch Morris, Wayne Horvitz, and many others); journeyman experimental guitarist Peter Biedermann working up beautiful ambient landscapes; the duo Groupthink, melding guitars, iPhone synths, and found objects in an immersive soup of electroacoustic spatial improv; and the avant-garde molecular synth terrains mapped by Thin Air via his banks of keyboards & onboard modules.
